State Bank of India is a government owned, public sector banking and financial services company. It is a multinational corporation having its headquarters in Mumbai. SBI was earlier known as Imperial Bank of India and is the earliest commercial bank in India. It was established in 1955. It has 18,354 branches all over India. It is working with the income of 37 billion US dollars and has more than 2.64 lakhs employees. Of the total employees, 23% are female and 1.5% is differently abled persons.
SBI is recruiting banking personnel through three stages of selection- preliminary exam, main exam, group discussion and interview. Candidate should pass in each level to move on to the next stage. The exams are conducted through online mode. The syllabus comprises English language, quantitative aptitude and reasoning ability. A final result will proclaim the selected candidates. However, clerical recruitment does not include interview; written exam is enough for that. SBI accepts both experienced and fresh graduates on regular and contractual basis.
