About OPSC

Odisha Public Service Commission (OPSC) is a state agency works under the control of Odisha government to recruit entry-level civil officers. It has its headquarters in Cuttack. It was constituted in 1949 by Lee commission. It is recruiting for Group A & B services through competitive exams and viva voce. The commission is framing recruitment rules and amendments; advising in promotion of officers and fixing inter seniority; advising on punishment proposed by disciplinary authority in finalization of departmental proceedings under OCS.

OPSC is conducting civil service exam, judicial service exam, Odisha Education service and recruits for Junior Lecturer, Asst Section Officer, Tourist Officer, Asst Executive Engineer, Junior Assistant and many such posts.

OPSC selects the candidates through three stages- preliminary exam, main exam, and interview. Preliminary exam has two papers- one on General Studies and another on Aptitude. The questions are of objective type. Only if the candidate scores more than 33% in Paper -II, their Paper -I will be evaluated. Candidates selected on merit basis will be passed over to Mains. Main exam has five compulsory papers and four optional papers for which candidate can select any two subjects out of ten. Candidates selected from mains can attend personality test or interview. Interview board is comprised of experts of respective department. The final result will be based on cumulative marks of mains exam and interview.
