About BSF

Border Security Force was started as a separate division of armed force in 1965, to secure the borders of the nation. It is specially meant for guarding the international borders and the central government directly controls the BSF. It prevents unauthorized entry, illegal smuggling and crimes across the borders. It protects the army installations against enemies and maintains law and order of enemy territories, which are under the control of our army. It controls the refugees who came across borders and guard the war prisoners. It also gives internal security in some places and prevents insurgency. Director General, an IPS officer will be appointed as the head of BSF. More than 2.5 lakhs of personnel are working in BSF. Indian BSF is the world's largest border guarding force and it has air wing, marine wing, artillery regiments and commando units as its divisions.

BSF is recruiting for Constable Tradesman in various trades like cobbling, painting, sweeping, cooking, tailoring, etc, Commandant, Logistic Officer, Equipment Operator, Senior Stores Provisioning Officer, Specialist Doctor, Dental Surgeon and General Duty Medical Officer. The suitable candidates for the posts are selected through PST and PET test, trade test, written test and medical exam. A final merit list will be prepared on the basis of above mentioned tests. The candidates will be selected in respect to the merit list.
